NEW YORK – The 73rd Tony Awards, held June 9 at Radio City Music Hall and hosted by James Cordon, honored Hadestown with eight awards, including Best Musical and nods for Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Bradley King), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Rachel Hauck) and Best Direction of a Musical (Rachel Chavkin). Other designers winning this year included Neil Austin (Ink), for Best Lighting Design of a Play and Rob Howell (The Ferryman), for Best Scenic Design of a Play. Howell also won a Tony for Best Costume Design, while Bob Mackie won the Tony for Best Costume Design of a Musical for The Cher Show. Read More...
