Dataton Takes Visitors on Voyage Through Dutch Maritime Museum

AMSTERDAM - The Netherlands’ Het Scheepvaartmuseum, which reopened last fall after being refurbished, offers visitors a new exhibit, Voyage at Sea. The five-room walk-through experience, which details the Netherlands’ maritime history, includes an oval 360° viewing area lit by 10 projectors.

KITCHENER, Ontario  – The Stephen Hawking Centre at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics features 84 Christie MicroTiles communicating a range of scientific research, training and outreach messages for a variety of audiences. Located in the lobby, the Christie MicroTiles array is assembled as an irregular hexagon, creating a dynamic media wall to welcome and inform visitors.

Electrosonic Creates Interactive Exhibit for Hitler Letter

LOS ANGELES – When the Museum of Tolerance acquired an early letter written by Adolf Hitler, it turned to Electrosonic to create an interactive exhibit. The artifact is housed in a wall-mounted glass display case along with a 65-inch Mitsubishi LED touchscreen. Visitors view content crafted by Cortina Productions, which allows them to virtually interact with the letter, reading it in the original German language or translated into English.

Coolux Technology Helps Actors Interact with 3D Projections

COLOGNE, Germany - Popular Belgian children’s television shows were recently turned into two stage productions involving 3D projection technology. Belgian TV production company Studio 100 used a combination of the coolux Broadcast server and the company's Widget Designer software to let the actors interact with 3D projections live on stage.

LONDON - XL Video supplied the UK leg of Kasabian’s recent “Velociraptor!’ world tour with a camera and PPU system, media server control, projection and scenic Barco MiStrip LED elements. Video director Paul “Eggy” Eggerton and engineer Wolfgang “Wolfie” Schram worked on the IMAG looks, while set was a collaboration between LD Nick Gray and the band’s creative dirctor Aitor Throp.

The panels made up the visual segments of the set for the BET Network’s BET Honors at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. Assisting Cossette Productions and the BET Network team, Pete’s Big TVs provided 328 panels of the DigiLED MC7 panels - a product for which they have a two year exclusive in North America.

SAS needed a green solution - functional and artistic - to enliven its hallways, briefing center and other areas  throughout the building. A 40-foot Welcome Wall is the highlight of the installation, greeting visitors in the registration area.

The band performs to a 360-degree audience where possible. Andy Bramley is the live video director, with Ben Miles as the content/media server designer and programmer. Production designer and LD Paul Normandale and Coldplay’s creative director Phil Harvey all play their part in this cinematic video environment.

WorldStage Supports AV for Park Art Installation

NEW YORK – WorldStage provided AV support for an innovative installation in New York City’s six-acre Madison Square Park, where Dutch artist Jacco Olivier’s stop-motion animations brighten the park’s winter landscape.  Olivier’s images of birds, a deer, a frog, a beetle and flora are seamlessly integrated into the outdoors, displayed on screens suspended from trees, hidden in the bushes and planted in the ground.  On display in both the park’s heavily trafficked areas and quieter spots, the exhibit runs until March.
