LONDON - Drapes and rigging expert Blackout, working for CPL Productions, returned to supply Sky One’s sports comedy panel show ‘A League of Their Own’, October 2016. Growing with the show over the last seven years, a team of six Blackout riggers lead by project manager Alex Duke, was entrusted to supply, install and operate a range of drapes and rigging equipment to transform a sound stage in the well-loved TV set playing host to the likes of James Cordon, Jack Whitehall, Andrew Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp.

Following the video projection shown at the Patent Office in Berlin during the Festival of Light in October, this was the second lighting installation being presented by Osram for its brand anniversary.

Lighting designer Corey Stewart drove the performance's intense lighting using an Avolites Pearl Expert console and wing. For the South Korean date, Stewart hired the console from Seoul-based rental company TKLS. His dynamic rig consisted of Claypaky Sharpys, Martin Mac Viper Profiles, Martin Atomics and Fay Blinders.

BIRMINGHAM, UK - Specialz, a Birmingham-based production design and specialty manufacturing company, took up a challenge posed by Coldplay and LD Paul Normandale to take the inclusive Xyloband crowd lighting idea one step further for the band's performance at the Glastonbury Festival's main Pyramid stage this past summer. They turned to Specialz for help in creating a festoon that could fully support over 500 LED balls without being attached to the structure. Each LED ball was programmed, tested and charged, before being secured into its holder and then rigged onto the outer staging.
