AMSTERDAM — With plans for a formal launch at Integrated Systems Europe 2017 in Amsterdam Feb. 7-10, a handful of companies have teamed up to form the SDVoE (Software Defined Video over Ethernet) Alliance. The group will promote a standardized software-defined video over Ethernet platform for interoperable AV-over-IP applications. The group’s members include AptoVision, Aquantia, Christie Digital, Netgear, Sony and ZeeVee.

MEXICO CITY - TV Azteca, the second largest mass media company in Mexico, has invested in Robe Pointe moving lights which were specified by Head of Lighting Miguel Osorno and Lighting Manager Manolo Toledo. The fixtures reside at TV Azteca’s main broadcast complex in Ajusco in the south of Mexico City which has 7 studios and are used there and on another 11 studios at their other main site across the city in Tlalpan. TV Azteca broadcasts two networks – Azteca 7 and Azteca Trece - and 10 cable channels covering a wide mix of programs.

LAS VEGAS—After nearly 10 years at the helm, Jacob Coakley is stepping down as editor of Stage Directions magazine, an affiliated publication with PLSN. Under his leadership Stage Directions experienced unprecedented growth in print and online, and was energized by a renewed focus on its core mission of covering the art and technology of making theatre. The February 2017 issue will be Coakley’s last. Michael S. Eddy, who has held many positions during his career in theatre, most recently as a freelance writer and marketing consultant, will take over as editor.
