ATLANTA and LAS VEGAS — Two young electricians were killed in separate accidents in late May. An employee of Rhino Staging and Event Solutions was killed in a fall at the MGM Grand on May 20. A film student in Georgia setting up lights for a shoot outdoors was electrocuted May 28. The employee of Rhino Staging and Event Solutions was backstage at MGM Grand’s Hollywood Theatre after a performance by Tom Jones. He was working at height when he fell to his death. No further information was available.

John Lamensdorf, 22, was setting up lights for a film shoot undertaken by Monticello, Ga.-based Pen Pals Productions when the lifting arm of a truck came in contact with overhead power lines. The truck was carrying lighting gear and the electricity ran through wiring, killing Lamensdorf and seriously injuring another student.
