A Monumental and Memorable Finale

The creative team for Daddy Yankee’s final ‘La Meta’ shows in Puerto Rico had a clear goal in mind: to give the artist and his fans the ultimate show experience as a send-off. Everyone on the creative team had their own favorite moments, from the top of the show where Daddy Yankee performs on his lighting platform and is floating back and forth to the beginning of Act III where the full scale of this 1,000-fixture production was presented to the reveal, in Act IV, of the giant inflatable statue of the artist that appears to cry golden tears. But the most memorable aspect of the production for Lighting Programmer/Operator Will Flavin was the behind-the-scenes teamwork that was required to stage this enormous production in the first place.

ESTA’s Technical Standard Program Seeking Public Reviews

ESTA’s Technical Standard Program announces three newly-published standard reaffirmations, and seven documents now in public review: Three of ESTA’s existing standards were approved for reaffirmation recently, and have been published, now available for free. Seven documents – one reaffirmation, two new draft standards, and four revised draft standards – are now in public review until 08 April 2024.

Christopher Bauder Favors MDG for his Autobiographical Installation VEKTOR

German light artist, Christopher Bauder, has chosen MDG ATMe haze generators and Me2 fog machines as the foundation of his latest installation, VEKTOR, a personal piece loosely based on his life experiences. VEKTOR, Memories in Light & Sound, is Bauder’s third installation at Berlin’s Kraftwerk, an old power plant-turned-art gallery in Berlin that Bauder refers to as an ‘industrial cathedral’.

Myles Mangino Sets Stage for Runway 7 During New York Fashion Week with CHAUVET Professional

New York Fashion Week at Runway 7, one of the renowned event’s premier attractions. Held at the iconic Sony Hall, Runway 7 was organized around a “Made In” theme that featured designs endemic to different regions of the world.  The work of a record 117 designers from 10 different nations were highlighted during the event’s four-day run. From Anjali Phougat’s blend of Indian and western styles, to Microteje’s Chilean streetwear, Runway 7 showcased a global array of inspiring stylings. Accenting the artistry of these creations was a Myles Mangino lighting design that featured 20 Ovation E-260WW warm white ellipsoidals.
