MONTREAL — Elation Professional has appointed Intellimix Corporation as its exclusive Canadian distributor. Under the agreement, Intellimix will distribute Elation’s professional lighting and control products to dealers, lighting installers, designers, rental houses and architectural clients throughout Canada. Founded in 1996, Intellimix was one of the first in Canada to become involved with LED lighting. Its products have been used in many installations and projects, including the video set of Le Match des Étoiles, Canada’s version of Dancing With The Stars.
“We are thrilled to have a company so highly regarded in the industry as Intellimix come on board as our Canadian distributor,” said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional. ”With Intellimix’s proven track record, product expertise and large customer base throughout Canada, they will make an outstanding addition to the Elation team. Their considerable experience with LED lighting in particular — the fastest-growing area of our business — should help position Elation for major expansion in the Canadian market in the years ahead.”
Intellimix founder/president Steve Kosters agreed that his company and Elation have an excellent synergistic fit. “It is a great honor for us to be named Elation’s Canadian distributor,” said Kosters. ”Elation is one of the most prominent brands out there, and now they’re making great strides in becoming a leader in the LED market. We feel that we can truly complement their business, because we have an extensive background in LEDs, dating back to when they first started emerging in Canada about seven or eight years ago.
“The exciting thing about this is that LEDs are still an emerging market — they’re not just for nightclubs. The usage and application of LEDs can be anywhere from architectural buildings to outdoor displays to homes,” Kosters added. “Because of this, I see the market expanding for years to come.” Elation’s new ELAR architectural line of IP-rated indoor/outdoor LED par cans, color washes, inground and underwater lighting fits in perfectly with this trend, Kosters added.
Kosters said that Intellimix will be debuting many new Elation products at the Music Industries Association of Canada (MIAC) Show in Toronto Aug. 23-24. Among these will be the Impression LED moving head, which has been used on many major concert tours including No Doubt and Billy Joel/Elton John, as well as Elation’s Design Spot 250 Pro hybrid spot/wash moving head and the Opti Tri Par tri-color LED par can. Intellimix will be exhibiting at Booth 401 at the MIAC show.
