MIDDLETON, WI – ETC's electrical and rigging courses now qualify as ETCP-recognized training programs. That means that those attendees training with ETC, who might otherwise have to retake the ETCP certification exam every five years, can accumulate some of the 40 renewal credits that can serve as an alternative to the retest. Qualifying courses for renewal credit include ETC New Technician Training, Recertification Training and Unison Paradigm Certification training, as well as the new ETC Prodigy-Rigging Installer Training.
"We realized that ETC's established technical training courses presented an opportunity for ETC to provide ETCP Renewal Credits," said Dan Boggess, ETC's field service manager, "so we began the process of applying – reviewing our curriculum and further preparing our training staff – with the aim of having ETC become an ETCP Recognized Training Program."
The ETCP Certification Council announced on Jan. 11, 2010, that ETC's application had been approved, confirming ETC as the first lighting manufacturer, and one of a handful of rigging manufacturers, to have courses recognized by ETCP.
As Boggess noted, "This means that attendees who are ETCP certified can now gain renewal credits by participating in one of our technical training sessions. We are very proud and excited to offer this expertise and professional aid to the industry. It's a win/win for all involved, with the end result of raising the bar in installation knowledge and safety in our industry."
