Stageline Mobile Stages Supported Olympics Torch Relay

VANCOUVER, BC – The Olympic Torch Relay was a 106-day trek with the torch across Canada and back prior to the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Vancouver, B.C. Two Stageline SL260 mobile stages accompanied the torch on its 45,000km (about 28,000 miles) journey, leaving Victoria, B.C. on Oct. 30 and returning to Vancouver's BC Place on Feb. 12. Before the flames lit the cauldrons for the Opening Ceremonies, the torch relay brought a symbol of the Olympics to more than a thousand Canadian communities.

Departing from Victoria, B.C. on Oct. 30, the mobile stages were set up for two shows a day, despite inclement weather and temperatures as low as -30 Fahrenheit.

It was the longest Olympic Torch Relay in history – and one that underscored the reliability of the mobile stages used to support the journey.

Stageline, founded in 1987, has provided mobile stages for previous Olympics, including the Summer Games in Atlanta (1996) and Sydney (2000) and Winter Games in Salt Lake City (2002) and Vancouver.
