COLOGNE, Germany – Excalibur, the Celtic Rock Opera started touring Germany and Switzerland earlier this year, with a lighting rig that includes Infinity ACL S fixtures from Coemar. The show, created by Alan Simon, premiered at Kaltenberg Castle in 2009 with rock icons from the 1970s and 1980s in its large cast, including Alan Parsons, John Helliwell of Supertramp and Martin Barre, guitarist with Jethro Tull. That show drew an audience of 17,000.
Along with musicians, the show features swordsmen, knights and dancers in medieval costumes, performing on a stage with central dais designed in the shape of a giant sword. The lighting, including the Infinity ACL S fixtures, were chosen to highlight the magic of Merlin's spells and the action on stage.
