ZAVENTEM, Belgium – ADB Lighting has opened its first regional subsidiary, ADB Asia, headquartered in Hong Kong. The ADB Asia team, led by Bertrand Dauphant, will manage the Asia / Pacific area. ADB Lighting also recently named Acoustic and Lighting System, with offices in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, as ADB's new distributor for Malaysia and Brunei.
"The two largest Asian markets for us are currently China and South Korea, where ADB is a leader in the entertainment lighting market for theatre and broadcast," noted Dauphant. "We're expanding further with our new distributor, Acoustic and Lighting System in Malaysia, and we've recently signed a new distributor for broadcast in the Philippines, as well having a good presence in the Vietnam and Thai TV studio markets."
Dauphant added that "as a well known brand in Asia, we deliver the complete range of products – dimmers, consoles, lighting fixtures, suspensions and the new ALC4 LED Cyclorama light, for broadcast, theatre and TV.
"The Asian market is booming and the forecasts also look very good for ADB and our future there. We already have world class ADB installation references at the Beijing Opera House, Seoul Art Center and the National Theatre in Malaysia, with many more in the pipeline."
Explaining the need for a separate subsidiary, Dauphant added, "the growth was becoming difficult to manage from ADB's headquarters in Belgium, hence the decision to a create subsidiary that is closer both to our market and to our customers."
The ADB network of international offices now includes ADB France, ADB Belgium, ADB Germany and ADB Asia.
