CALGARY, AB Canada – Auerbach Pollock Friedlander has begun work on a project at Mount Royal University Conservatory of Music with lead architect Pfeiffer Partners, Inc. in association with locally-based Sahuri + Partners Architecture, Inc. Auerbach Pollock Friedlander is providing full-scope theatre consulting services for the project, a new free-standing conservatory that offers non-credit performance-based instruction to Mount Royal students and musicians from the greater Calgary community.
The planned 700-seat concert hall, ensemble studios and practice rooms are associated with the University's outreach programming, serving over 30,000 students who range from toddlers enrolled in "Music with Your Baby" and Suzuki piano courses for young children to solo instruction for students and adults of all ages.
Located on the Lincoln Park Campus, the conservatory is part of a six phase expansion program that started in 2001 to increase student enrollment. It is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2013.
