LONDON – PLASA 2010 got underway Sunday, Sept. 12, after a surge in visitor registrations. New features to this year's show include a two-day rigging conference Sept. 13-14, but the overall focus remains, as always, on the latest new product introductions. A listing of some of the new lighting and projection products on display follows.

Christie is featuring its Nitro Solutions digital luminaires. The modular series of motorized moving yokes can provide up to 20,000 ANSI lumens of video projection, and, with the optional Xenon or LED lighting heads, the system can produce up to 50,000 lumens of lighting.

The Chroma-Q Color Force LED lighting range has been extended with the Color Force 12, a multipurpose fixture that provides the feature set of the Color Force LED battens range in a compact version well-suited for floor, wall or truss mounting. It is 300mm / 1 foot long, and can be used for pipe end, shin buster and wash applications. It can also be used to extend Color Force 48 and 72 LED batten installations, with minimal distance between fixtures and a output in excess of 2,000 lumens for wall washing up to 8 meters / 26 feet.

Clay Paky added to the Spot HPE, Wash and Beam fixtures in its range of 700W Alpha projectors with the Alpha Profile 700 and its new framing system. Lightfactor is using its exhibition space to display products from DTS, LDR and Novalight from Italy, LightProcessor and Cogent from the UK, SFAT from France and VXCO from Switzerland.
