ARGYLE, TX – GoVision has provided big LED screens for events ranging from inaugurations to the NCAA's Final Four. There was no shortage of LED video gear on display at the celebration for the opening of their new headquarters facility in Argyle, either, which brought about 350 people to watch the Cowboys play their regular season opening game. GoVision claims the world's largest inventory of Daktronics PST-12HD equipment, and Daktronics served as the presenter for the grand opening. Virtually all of GoVision's Daktronics equipment – including the HD "GoBigger," was on display inside and outside of GoVision's headquarters.
The biggest screens provided larger-than-life views of the Bird Dogs – a local cover band fronted by sports radio personality George Dunham – which entertained the revelers as they dined on a Texas-sized barbeque buffet. The band served as the warm-up act for the Sunday night clash between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, seen over the "GoBigger" and twin "GoBig" units.
Also featured prominently was a demo of Daktronics' new PST-6i-b high-resolution 6-mm display. The fan-less, noise-free display is well-suited for premier indoor events. Additional screens ran promotional footage featuring GoVision, Daktronics and other companies that supported the grand opening.
Though GoVision moved into its 50,000 square foot warehouse and office space last February, the transition to the new facility and a packed schedule left little time for partying.
Eventually, GoVision CEO Chris Curtis decided to clear the calendar for Sunday, Sept. 12, to officially mark the company's important milestone, as well as to thank the customers, vendors, partners, employees and family members who have contributed to GoVision's success since its founding in 2002.
"We've been blessed with so much for so long, it was important to me to recognize the people who have been so instrumental in getting us where we are today," said Curtis. "We're pleased that so many friends and colleagues showed up to celebrate with us. It's humbling, really."
Several local government officials, media members, university and professional sports executives and representatives of the audio/video and event industries attended the grand opening.
"The Cowboys could have ended the evening on a higher note, but other than that, it was a wonderful event," said Joni Diekmann, Daktronics' director of mobile & modular marketing, who traveled from South Dakota for the event.
"GoVision takes great pride in providing the best for their customers and we are honored to have them as a longstanding Daktronics rental partner. We are fortunate to have built a strong relationship with the GoVision team over the years, and wish them many more years of great success."
