KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The 24th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) music awards presented music fans in Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur with a big stage filled with Malaysia's musical elite, and Siswa Azmi from Mubari Sound Light Sdn. Bhd. chose Clay Paky and other fixtures to light the show. The ceremony was organized and produced by Malasia's TV3. "The stage design is significantly broader and longer compared to last years," Azmi noted. "Thus, we need to make sure all the equipment is able to cover the entire area of the stage. Luckily, with Clay Paky, there are no problems arising, and it maintains a smooth operation at all times."
Azmi's rig for the main stage included 146 moving heads in all, and 80 of those were Clay Paky fixtures, including Alpha Beam 300s (50 units) and Alpha Beam 700s (30 units).
The show, which featured a set design that adopted the folding paper art of Origami as a theme, had a celebrity line-up that included Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Misha Omar, Aleya, Bunkface, Black, Hujan, Aizat Amdan, and Stacy, among other VIPs.
Mubari recently acquired 30 units each of Clay Paky Alpha Beam 700 and Alpha Spot HPE 700 from their supplier, Acoustic & Lighting System Sdn Bhd., and Azmi credited the Alpha Spot HPE 700 in particular as "a new generation of moving head for graphic effects" combining "spectacular effects, ease of daily use, simple operation and environmental sustainability."
Azmi also had good things to say about the Alpha Beam 700, used for the first time on a stage in Malaysia. He credited that fixture for its range of effects, versatility and ease of use, "a super concentrated near-parallel light beam that emulates the effect of a Par 64 ACL – three times the brightness as that of an ordinary 1200 W wash projector."
In addition to lighting, Mubari Light Sound also supplied all audio and truss for the event.
