DUBLIN and CORK, Ireland – Arthur's Day, launched in 2009 to mark the 250th anniversary of the Guinness brewing company, served as a tribute to founder Arthur Guinness and featured televised concerts to raise funds for charity. The event returned in 2010, with performances in Dublin and Cork lit by EQ Lighting and Clay Paky fixtures. EQ Lighting recently purchased Alpha Spot 700, Alpha Wash 700 and Alpha Beam 700 fixtures, and project managers Rob Jones and Garrett Hanley used them for the first time to light the studios for this event, which were designed by Eugene O'Connor DOP.

The event included performances at four Dublin venues, including Vicar St. and The Academy, and also at the Savoy in Cork. Alpha Beam 700s were also supplied to the Hop House at St James Gate Brewery for the main show, and LDs at the various studio venues credited the Alpha 700 range for performance and reliability.

"The Alpha 700 series are by far the most advanced mid range moving lights available at the moment, and having these in stocks allows us to be at the forefront of the latest technological developments," noted Garrett Hanley,  operations manager for EQ Lighting.

He also called the Alpha 700 range a "perfect addition to our hire stock," noting the combination of bright output with 20kg weight.
