ASTANA, Kazakhstan – The Khan Shatyr, or Royal Marquee, is a 500-foot-high clear tent supported by cables extending from a central spire. The structure is designed to moderate the temperatures felt by visitors to the 10-football-field area that it encloses, which range from very cold during the winter (-30 degrees F.) to hot in the summer (95 degrees F.) Clay Paky Alpha Beam 1500s and Alpha Spot HPE 300s were recently installed inside the enclosed space, which includes shops, cafés, restaurants, cinemas and multipurpose areas. SF DIÅž TİCARET A.Åž., a Turkish company based in Ortaköy, installed the lighting system. Linea Tusavul Architecture and Gultekin Architecture implemented the project.
