SOMERSET, UK – A brand new performance space at Bath Spa University in the United Kingdom boasts a number of technologically advanced features. The "Image Capture Studio," located in a Grade 1 listed building on the Corsham Court campus, was designed and installed to utilize a Milos QuickTruss ground support trussing system for its assorted production and media related equipment. The studio includes a full image capture studio, green screen, projection facilities, and a photography studio. UK-based production company Enlightened chose QuickTruss for its wide range of trussing and accessories, strength, and aesthetic appeal. The QuickTruss structure ably supports a full lighting rig, sound and AV equipment and a number of facilities panels. The eight-legged structure measures 46'W x 20'D x 13'H (14m x 6m x 4m). The structure was specially designed with asymmetric legs, carefully positioned to avoid obstructions in the space. The central spine of the structure is complete with five strengthening cross members.
The lighting rig features a full selection of white lights including Kino Flos, Philips Selecon profiles and fresnels, plus LED fixtures. There is a flown Nexo PS10 audio system, a Sanyo HD projector and screen, a full set of drapes and pantograph lifts. Doughty Engineering made a set of custom brackets to allow a shaped Studio Rail to be hung below the structure for precise hanging of the drapes and masking.
