MORRISTOWN, NJ – 4Wall New York recently donated entertainment lighting for use at “Skate for Love,” a figure skating and entertainment exhibition benefiting the Susan G. Komen cancer foundation. The event was the idea of competitive figure skaters Corinna Lin and Madison Olivieri.
Held on April 16 at the Mennen Sports Arena, “Skate for Love” included skating performances by over 30 professionals from around the globe; as well as Olympic Figure Skaters Emily Hughes and Kimmie Meissner. Musical guests Eddie Brigati and Lisa Bouchelle also performed.
4Wall provided not only the lighting for the event but also on-site labor and support. The goal of enhancing the performers with an inviting atmosphere led to a gear list that included Vari*Lite VL3000 Spots and VL3500 Washes, as well as CM Motors and Lycian Followspots.
Wayne Olivieri of “Skate for Love” spoke of the lighting’s effect on the performance:
“4Wall saved Skate for Love with the generous donation of an incredible professional lighting system. The 4Wall crew worked out any problem that came along and kept a positive attitude while never seeming unnerved about anything.”
Judging from the well-attended and well-received event, it’s likely that the first incarnation of “Skate for Love” won’t be the last.
