LOS ANGELES — All Access Staging and Productions recently completed installation of the temporary staging, seating riser, and “opera box” systems for the live show run of America’s Got Talent for the summer.
“It’s one of our most challenging annual gigs,” said Bob Hughes, vice president. “This is our third year on the show with the current structural configuration, and it always looks terrific with updated scenic changes under John Gilles’ direction.”
The Versa structural system, which is a proprietary design of All Access Staging and Productions and Versa Stage, fills the room at CBS Television City stage 36, and in some cases, wall-to-wall across the fire lanes.
“We’ve got some great standard walk-through components which allow us to breach the egress aisles yet maintain fire codes,” said Hughes. “Our clients have come to rely on our experience to guide them in the proper direction for load capacity, stair access, and tech area space.
“In the case of AGT, our main audience structure tops out at 17.5 feet, but the tech platform behind is 19 feet high, which is where the lighting and one of the jibs are located,” Hughes continued.
“An added plus for utilizing our walk-through structural framing is the ability to house additional tech and production areas underneath the massive structure.”
The “opera boxes” on the sides of the room are comprised of 20-inch box truss structures with bull-nose seating sections at various heights from 7.5 to 28 feet high.
“Gary Speakman and his talented crew do the lion’s share of work getting this thing in and out,” Hughes said, “and Kish Rigging is always there to rig the show and help erect and secure the structures. Ed’s guys are top notch.”
All Access Staging and Productions has also been busy with projects including The Voice, BET Awards, Family Game Night, and corporate and touring events.
