ORLANDO — The Parnelli Board of Directors has announced that Flo & Eddie (Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan) will be hosting the Parnelli Awards at the Peabody Orlando Oct. 29. Known for hits like “Happy Together” as founding members of The Turtles, Flo & Eddie also played and toured extensively with Frank Zappa and are currently touring with the Happy Together Again tour.
“Flo & Eddie have certainly seen the world of production unfold before their eyes through their long historic career,” stated Parnelli Awards’ executive director, Terry Lowe. “I am sure this will be one of the funniest Parnelli Awards Shows ever with Flo & Eddie.”
Mark Volman went on to say, “We have been talking about being a part of this show for a couple of years now. We certainly have worked with so many great production people through the years, it is great to have the opportunity to play a role in honoring the people who have helped us perform throughout our careers.”
Along with Flo & Eddie, the 2011 Parnelli Awards highlights include the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Ed Wannebo, the Parnelli Visionary Award to Jim Fackert and the Audio Innovator award to Kenton Forsythe.
