DJ Kissy Sell Out Tours with Martin MAC 101s from White Light

LONDON — White Light provided lighting gear for DJ Kissy Sell Out’s Wild Romance tour, including 16 Martin MAC 101 moving LED fixtures. Know1 Production, which designed the lighting and video visuals used for the tour specified the gear.

Know1’s Matthew Pitman and Cy Dodimead sought to provide Kissy Sell Out with a design that was “pretty adaptable but quite technically advanced.” To achieve this, they designed a pixel-mapped video screen background formed from Martin LC video panels, surrounded by vertical booms loaded with Mac101s.

The show was controlled from a Martin M1 console and Maxedia Compact media server, and the system was configured so that the lights could be operated manually or switched to mimic the video screen.

“Both Cy and I have grown up working with White Light, and because of this, they were our immediate choice of hire company,” said Pitman.

“Cy and Matt were very keen to tour the Mac101, for its compact size and weight, its fast movement, its brightness and its versatile LED ‘face,’” said White Light’s Dave Isherwood. “We liked the light, and so we’ve added 40 to the White Light rental stock. Sixteen went straight out on Kissy, and the rest are proving enormously popular in festivals, on corporate events and other shows.”

White Light also supplied the Kissy show with Martin Atomic strobes along with all the requisite rigging, cabling and infrastructure to meet the tour’s needs.
