LONDON — PLASA, noting ongoing merger activities and the end-of-year departure of European executive director Ruth Rossington, announced additional restructuring. Starting Oct. 1,  CEO Matthew Griffiths will temporarily oversee the U.K. and North America Events divisions. Finance Director Shane McGreevy becomes COO with responsibilities expanding into operational administration and personnel.

Lori Rubinstein, current executive director in North America, becomes the new director of Membership, Skills, Standards & Technical. Jackie Tien, formerly head of publishing in North America, assumes directorial responsibility for all media, sales and marketing activities.

PLASA noted that this new structure would be a temporary arrangement, adding that the association is recruiting a series of divisional heads to work under the management team to lead the future development of PLASA’s five operating divisions: Events, Media, Membership, Skills, Standards and Technical.

PLASA also noted that interviews are underway for a newly created U.K.-based head of membership, and that, in early 2012, PLASA will appoint a new head of events who will develop the association’s international exhibitions and conferences, among other planned changes for 2012.
