Moscow Marks 864 Years with Synchronized Projection and Pyro

MOSCOW — Organizers of a big anniversary celebration for the city of Moscow, which marked 864 years, used a Riedel Artist digital matrix intercom system, which also distributed the timecode synchronizing a large-format projection with pyro effects. The 4D projection-mapped show, produced by David Atkins Enterprises, was beamed onto the exterior walls of Moscow University.

The event’s organizers made use of fiber-connected Artist 64 and Artist 32 mainframes in a control tower and the university building that served as the show’s projection canvas. Along with the digital matrix intercom, the production crew used Riedel RiFace to connect a Riedel Performer digital partyline system with various mobile Motorola radios.

In all, 25 Artist 1000 control panels were used at the event. The Performer partyline installation consisted of 17 C3 beltpacks and three Performer C44 master stations, which linked the partyline and matrix intercom system.

The Artist installation used by the 1st Channel OB broadcast truck also connected into the communications system via a 4-wire link. In addition, the production crew used Riedel PRO headsets.
