KNOXVILLE, TN – Under the guidance of manager Clarence Spalding, Jason Aldean has been selling out coast-to-coast and sweeping awards shows regularly. Aldean just won a record six American Country Awards, including Single of the Year, Album of the Year, and Touring Artist of the Year. The album is Platinum and Aldean is currently on top of the country and pop charts with the hit “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson.?
Lighting designer Aaron Swetland has continued to craft his art as the shows and lighting systems have grown geometrically through the years.
The My Kinda Party Tour has been setting records throughout 2011, and it continues into 2012. In the new year, Swetland is using a number of different technologies to help Aldean shine each night. His arsenal includes Martin MAC IIIs, MAC 2K Washes, VL 3000 Spots, VL 3500 Washes, HIgh End Systems SHOWGUNs, Clay Paky Sharpys, GLP Volkslichts, Coemar I Wash LEDs, Bandit 5×5 Blinders, GRN Battens, GRN Washes, GRN PARs, and Atomic Strobes. Tyler Green Truss is used for rapid deployment of the system, and grandMA consoles are Swetland’s control desk of choice.
Swetland uses moving trusses with video panels attached to achieve multiple looks out of a single system. Each song has its own look as the trusses morph into a variety of heights and angles. The integration of video and illumination is a key element of Swetland’s concept.
Bandit Lites is proud to have been part of the Aldean family since the start 10 years ago, said VP Michael Golden, who has worked with Aldean since the beginning. “Jason, Clarence and Aaron are some of the finest people in the industry and working with this professional organization is what we dream about at Bandit. Tour manager Tim McCormick and stage managers John Fritz and Josh Marcus keep the show rolling every day. We look forward to a long ride with Jason.”
