AUSTIN, TX — PLASA Focus, set for Feb. 22-23 at the Renaissance Austin, will feature 50 exhibitors and a two-day program of free professional development sessions. Along with sessions staged by the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas, The Broadway Green Alliance, Austin City Limits Live, The Production Equipment Rental Group (PERG) and the Long Centre for the Performing Arts, there will be a presentation by LD Peter Morse and a session on advanced mapping techniques using Hippotizer media servers.
Morse, the presenter for “Lighting the Big Stage,” is a Parnelli Award winner and presenter who has lit artists including Madonna, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Usher, Prince, Christina Aguilera and Janet Jackson, among others. TMB’s session on Hippotizer Media Servers will be led by product specialist and trainer Tim Nauss. He will cover pixel-mapping using Hippotizer’s VideoMapper, PixelMapper, UberPan and other Hippotizer tools. “Demystifying Audio” by Jason Waggoner will take a look at the fundamentals of audio and acoustics, including the acoustic signal path between the loudspeaker and the listener’s ears.
