Martin Professional MAC III AirFX

The new MAC III AirFX is a combination beam, effects and wash luminaire and is the latest 1500-watt moving head in Martin’s MAC III family. Debuting Feb. 22-23 at PLASA Focus in Austin, TX. Our Editor, Justin Lang was on hand and captured a quick product demo.

 

Jands Vista L5 Console

Jands’s new Vista L5 console controls lighting and media. Its highlight feature includes a 21-inch HD Wacom pen tablet, allowing a display of the entire rig on one screen for quick access to moving lights, media servers and LEDs. The L5 has 16 DMX universes and a backlit keyboard for working in dark environments. Linux OS drives an Intel Core i7 processor with 8 GB of RAM.

 

Brilliant Stages for Rammstein’s ‘Made in Germany’ Tour

HITCHIN, HERTS, UK – Rammstein’s touring set centers around an industrial theme with a Mega Fan capturing major attention. Production/lighting designer Roy Bennett worked with Peter Aquinde to create the urban set. Brilliant Stages designed and fabricated four main staging elements for the tour.

 

Elaborate Halftime Show Part of Most-Watched Super Bowl Ever

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Over 111 million viewers tuned into NBC to watch Super Bowl XLVI and the Bridgestone Halftime Show featuring Madonna, LMFAO, M.I.A., Nicki Minaj and Cee Lo Green. The halftime show was lit by Al Gurdon and featured a production design by Bruce Rodgers of Tribe, Inc. The show’s large cast performed Cirque du Soleil influenced-choreography on 43 modular pieces handled by some 500 stagehands, with load-in and load-out (pictured here) taking place in nine and 10 minutes, respectively. PLSNeditor Justin Lang and Stage Directions editor Jacob Coakley followed the action as it happened, tweeting live on Twitter.

 

4Wall Renovates Polynesian Cultural Center Restaurant

LAIE, HI– The 4Wall Systems and Design team recently assisted the Polynesian Cultural Center in renovating its Gateway Restaurant. The finished venue is a hall that smoothly uses color changing to transition from a warm afternoon vibe to an intimate moonlight dining experience. Paul Hixon of Helius Lighting Group created the design concept, while Brent Prichett was 4Wall’s designer on the project.

 

Austin Update

This past week, our Editor, Justin Lang was in Austin Texas covering the show. He took a number of photos of new products and from around the show. In addition, he caught up with Martin Professional. Noel Duncan demonstrated the new Martin MAC III AirFX. Paul gave us a quick over view of the new M2GO & M2PC control surfaces. Brad Schiller took us through all of the new products High End Systems. Starting off with the new DLV digital light, the just released TechnoArc and the new LED Trackspot Bolt.
