NORTH BERGEN, NJ – Drape Kings took on the challenge of draping Met Life Stadium with almost two and a half miles of their custom green mesh drape for the 12th reading of the Talmud by the Agudath Israel of America. This event, Aug. 1, which occurs every 7 ½ years, celebrates the completion of the reading of the Talmud, the book of Jewish law and tradition. More than 90,000 people attended, while another 30,000 viewed it via satellite.
At specific times during the event, the women were required to be unseen but were able to participate. This was achieved with a mechitzah, or privacy screen, created by Drape Kings. Hung in four tiers in the women’s seating area, located on the 300 level of the stadium, the screen provided the participants with the required coverage while still allowing for their participation and inclusion.
In addition to the mechitzah, Drape Kings provided more than 600 feet of its fire retardant black encore drape; 2,268 x 25 lb. sandbags; 5,000 tie wraps; 11,500 ratchet straps; 17,500 clips as well as hundreds of hours planning, preparing and implementing a flawless event.
