PRAGUE – Milos QuickTruss is currently in use in the “Tutankhamen – His Tomb and Treasures” exhibition, showing at the Holesovice Exhibition Centre in Prague.  Technical production solutions provider Smart Production SRO, also based in Prague, has invested in substantial quantities of Milos QuickTruss M390L Quatro to outfit the exhibit.  The truss structure measures 318 feet long by 105 feet deep and 16 feet high and uses M390 multicube junctions and 40 truss legs.

The QuickTruss structure forms the framework for several viewing sections of the experience in the main exhibition space, and is rigged with individual booths below as well as banners, graphics, scenic materials and assorted lighting and AV equipment.

When it came to choosing truss for the project, Milos came highly recommended to Smart Productions.  The Czech Republic headquartered Milos Group is the largest global aluminum trussing manufacturer offering the most diverse portfolio of trussing and related products worldwide.

With the structure’s colossal specifications, Smart Productions sought a robust, reliable and quality engineered product that could also go into their rental stock for everyday use when the exhibition is finished.  Milos could deliver the large order in a short timeframe and offered their trademark after-sales service and support, which was another factor attracting Smart Productions to the brand.  The sale was coordinated for Milos by Milos Cmejla.

QuickTruss M390 is one of the larger format products available in both heavy duty ‘L’ and regular ‘K’ versions, measuring 390mm (15 3/8 inches).  It uses the same conical connectors, pins and safety R-clips as Milos’ M290 series and offers weight loading capabilities over long spans. It is designed for large scale applications like this where the distance between the legs is 30-35 feet.

Installation of the trussing system took two days involving a specialist rigging crew of 10.

The exhibition is scheduled to run in Prague until the end of June, and includes the reconstruction of Tutankhamen’s tomb site, detailed replicas of the artifacts found in the burial chambers, and audio-visual recordings, video screenings and interactive elements. Prior to this, the exhibition was in Brno, CZ, where it attracted more than 200,000 visitors.
