LAS VEGAS — Gallagher Staging noted its involvement in the production of the 2013 Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway here, including 40 of its G-Blocks which were used with a 200-foot-wide staging structure. That structure was also complemented by four GS scaffolding structures for video, lighting and audio.

More details from Gallagher Staging (www.gallagherstaging.com):

Gallagher Staging was thrilled to be a part of the 17th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. This 3-day electronic festival took place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, featuring over 150 electronic dance music artists, 500 theatrical performers, and seven solid stages that were designed to impress.

In order to create a memorable audiovisual experience, Gallagher Staging took initial design concepts for stage 2, transforming them into a tangible reality. This superstructure was erected to support large video panels and PA, and took precedence of being the focal point for this interactive experience.

Some notable production elements included a 60-foot, tall 200-foot wide and 40-foot deep stage, equipped with two PA supports, stair units, handrail, skirting, and was supported by 40 GBLOCKs. In addition, the Gallagher team built four GS scaffolding structures, supporting video, lighting, and audio.

In an event of high winds, scrims, video, and PA would lower at the touch of a button, reducing the wind load. During this three day event, the superstructure encountered 35 mph winds, but was engineered to withstand wind speeds over 70 mph. On-site, this impressive structure was referred to as the “bulletproof” stage, and acted as the designated safety zone for attendees in the event of severe weather conditions.

EDC went flawlessly, and produced an immeasurable amount of exposure via various media platforms including radio, television, and print. Attendees are already counting down for EDC 2014, and we hope we can be apart of this infamous event next year.
