Bandit Lites Supports Rascal Flatts Tour

NASHVILLE — For Rascal Flatts, which has been touring with Journey, Cassadee Pope and The Band Perry, Bandit Lites provided a rig for LD Andy Knighton that includes Vari*Lite VL3500 washes, VL3000 spots and Martin MAC Vipers, with a grandMA and grandMA Lite console for control.

Bandit Lites and lighting designer Andy Knighton have been touring with Rascal Flatt’s for eleven years and has seen the group evolve into one of the biggest tours in the world, and while the concerts have always been “big and crazy,” Knighton remains resolute in creating a shows that are always “way outside the box.”

“I was once told by Gary Levox, ‘You do what you do and I’ll sing.’ These guys have always trusted me to run that part of the business,” said Knighton.

Equipment includes [Vari*Lite] VL3500 washes, VL3000 spots, [Martin] MAC Vipers, a grandMA console and grandMA Lite console.

“This rig consists of nine curvatures loaded with VL products and video tile, 4 pods of 6 MAC Vipers on rotating walls, a complete thrust network riddled with LEF MR-16 and under lite via 12-8 lite linear boxes,” explained Knighton.
