Dana Taylor commented, “All of the riders pay all of their own expenses, and we’re happy to be able to cover this expense for them.”
The LRLR, which began in 2004 and was supposed to be a one-time event, has grown into an annual tradition with riders from the USA, Canada and Europe. To date the ride has raised over $400,000.
The two charities benefitting from the ride are The ESTA Foundation’s Behind the Scenes program and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. “Both charities do such wonderful work”, noted Limelight Productions President William Beautyman, “It’s an honor for us to participate in any way possible.”
This year’s ride, dubbed “Carpe Diem, Carpe Twisty”, begins in Baltimore on July 11th and returns to Baltimore after a seven day jaunt through the mountains of West Virginia, the farmlands of Pennsylvania and the rolling ranch lands of Virginia.
