LOUISVILLE, KY – For the annual Forecastle Festival, which has grown from its humble beginnings in 2002 to an annual event drawing 75,000 fans of music, arts and Kentucky bourbon, Bandit Lites worked with AC Entertainment and festival production manager Richard Wold of Lambda Productions to provide the lighting rig for two stages and the DJ tent.

“This feels like a perfect night in Louisville where anything can happen.” Beck may have been speaking on the last night of the Forecastle Festival, where he closed out the three day musical bonanza, but the sentiment could have applied to the entire weekend.
Dubbed by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the “Coolest Festivals,” the Forecastle Festival is in its twelfth year and takes place in downtown Louisville’s scenic 85-acre Waterfront Park on the Ohio river.
This year’s lineup included festival favorites Outkast, Jack White, Beck, Spoon, The Replacements, Ray LaMontagne, Nickel Creek and Jason Isbell in addition to sixty more acts spread out across multiple stages and evenings.
A unique aspect of the Forecastle Festival is its dedication to not only providing great musical acts, but also including over 100 local, regional and national artists in addition to promoting activism by featuring more than 150 environmental non-profits and outdoor recreational organizations over its decade long tenure.
Bandit supplied VL 3500 washes, VL 3000 spots, GRN moving washes and GRN pars, Clay Paky Sharpys, Martin Atomic strobes, Lycian M2 spots and Grand MA 2 full consoles. On-site support from Bandit was provided by Aaron Swetland, Sam Morgan, Joseph Eberle, Shane Harrington, Phil Stroud and Julie Cox. Bandit’s Shawn Lear also provided immeasurable support as the event’s project manager.
“This has become a very solid festival in the summer run, while not as big in capacity as the likes of Bonnaroo or Firefly, it does have the benefit of being right in the middle of downtown Louisville with the Ohio River and various bridges and buildings across the river as the backdrop,” said Bandit’s Dizzy Gosnell. “There is never a dull moment with four main stages to keep things moving all day long in addition to being able to sample many locally made beverages and foods.
