Overview
You can know the legendary Bootsy Collins for his pivotal role in the band ‘Parliament’, or for playing the bass in the band of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. Or – completely unaware of it – maybe you came across Bootsy Collins while listening to a track of Dee-Lite ‘Groove is in the heart’. His bass riff was a song in the song, and his cameo was insuperable. However, you just listen to Bootsy once and you fall in love forever with his music. The expectations for his concert at Fiest’a Sète 2014 festival, were high. Bootsy Collins took the stage for what was the last performance of his French tour, just before returning to the U.S. for a new series of concerts. That was a unique opportunity to join the happening staged by ‘the king of Psychedelic-Funk’. Bootsy Collins is much better live than on record. Because in addition to being a great musician, he is a man with an extraordinary sense of humor. This was really an unforgettable concert, with great picks from his latest album: Tha Funk Capital of the World.
