BEIJING – Christie will demo its latest digital projection technology at the Beijing International Radio, TV & Film Exhibition (BIRTV), taking place at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing August 26-28.
More details from Christie (www.christiedigital.com):
At booth #2A232, Christie will officially launch the new Christie CP2208 DLP® Digital Cinema® projector, which is capable of displaying DCI content, alternative and local content, and 3D and High Frame Rate (HFR) content to provide audiences with the best visual experience possible. Visitors can attend live demonstrations of the CP2208 conducted hourly in the 18-seat internal theater at the booth featuring the innovative Christie Vive Audio™ solution that offers rich, dynamic and detailed sound for a complete cinematic experience.
“BIRTV has been widely acknowledged as the most influential exhibition for the radio, film and television industries in Asia, and is the perfect platform for us to launch the new Christie CP2208 digital cinema projector, which offers an affordable, DCI-compliant, complete solution that will captivate audiences,” said Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific. “We are proud to feature our latest digital cinema projection technologies with a brilliant showcase of movie contents using the CP2208 and Christie Vive Audio. We are also confident that this worldwide debut of the CP2208 will further reinforce Christie’s position as a leader in the digital cinema projection market.”
Targeted at theaters whose screen sizes are less than 10.6 meters (35 feet) wide, the CP2208 comes with a lens, custom-designed Xenon lamp, and a new playback engine with its own easy-to-operate Screen Management Software (SMS). Feature film content is displayed using the built-in playback engine linked directly to external commodity storage systems, reducing overall system cost and increasing overall system reliability. The Christie CP2208 also offers HFR upgrade capabilities and support for advertising and alternative content. For external alternative content sources, the Christie CP2208 has dual DVI/HDMI inputs, configurable for both 2D and 3D operation.
Cinema Laser Phosphor Projector Demonstrated
Also at booth #2A232, Christie will demonstrate its new laser phosphor (LaPh) projection technology, capable of 22,000 lumens and 30,000 hours to 50 percent brightness. This Christie CP2208-LP is Christie’s first laser phosphor solution for cinemas and is planned to be available in early 2016, followed shortly thereafter by a family of larger and more powerful LaPh products.
Laser Projection Demonstration and Presentation
In conjunction with its participation in BIRTV, more than 120 invited guests will be given a special demonstration of Christie’s groundbreaking 6-Primary (6P) laser projection system on August 26 at Beijing’s Tongzhou Wanda Plaza Cinema. The Christie 6P laser projector installed at this venue has a brightness of 32,000 lumens and is designed to achieve 10-foot lamberts onscreen in 3D. It provides vastly improved brightness, enhanced color gamut and a remarkable contrast ratio for a superior 3D movie experience. On this occasion, guests will also obtain more information on Christie’s laser projection technologies in a presentation delivered by Henry Noel, regional sales manager, Entertainment Solutions, Christie.
In addition, Christie will deliver a presentation titled Theater Design of High-End Cinema Laser Projection, which will take place at the Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Institute, on August 27 at 2:30 p.m. Delivered by Joe Zhou, senior sales manager (Entertainment Solutions), Christie China, the presentation will focus on Christie’s laser projection technology and how premium large-format theaters should be designed so that patrons can enjoy the best and most immersive visual experience.
