LAS VEGAS – Thousands of people descended upon the Las Vegas Convention Center last week for the annual LDI convention. One of the most talked-about booths combined the top of the line eye candy as well as professional lighting products for the stage from Wisconsin based Blizzard lighting to go along with a unique and original truss structure that only ModTruss can erect.

Stunning showgirls epitomized the glitz that is normally reserved for a town like Las Vegas as the booth was packed non-stop with people amazed at the structure on display. By far the slickest truss layout on the floor, the two-storied building featured every bit of metal fabrication that ModTruss makes to assemble such structures. The fun factor was high-lighted by the operable crane up top that allowed spectators to drop beach balls from above on unsuspecting attendees.
Blizzard lighting products were fastened with ease all over the structure due to special adapters and pipes utilized and constructed by ModTruss. The fresh appeal of the Snake Eyes fixture immediately caught the eye of all who attended. A continuously rotating cube of light, this fixture features a snake eye (single LED light source per side) emitting a concentrated shaft of light from each side of the die. On the edges of the cube were strips of RGB colored LED resembling a tape of sorts that brought the fixture to life.
The two storied ground supported structure was made of polished aluminum and erected easily without the use of a crane or any rigged hoists. Despite the gleam of the metal, it took light quite well from the plethora of Blizzard products mounted to the structure and a full on party atmosphere enveloped the booth. Among the various products unveiled at the site was The Blockhead Big Eye, a larger version of their original smaller LED square shaped fixtures which features 9 separate LED cells.
The KRYO Morph was on display as well with its super bright 280w discharge bulb on a yoked moving light. This mover matched up well with the new Flurry Beam which is a moving yoke fixture as well but is powered by a single 60w COB 4in1 LED.
The Stiletto Z6 and Z18 models were on hand to show off the latest in LED pancake fixtures. The Z18 has the capability of dividing its front face into 6 slices of individual control as far as color and dimming goes.
Also on hand was the series of LED pars from Blizzard lighting – featuring the Tournado, an IP65 rated LED par powered by a colored COB source. The Propar Z19 was also on hand with an immensely bright shaft of light.
Perhaps the sexiest fixture on display was the Motif Vignette, the latest LED strip light to hit the scene. This slick and noiseless beauty features 18 x 10w LED lamps.
The constant overflow of people at this booth caused a bit of a log jam on the convention floor as people stopped to gawk at everything on display. At one point crowds had to be directed down the back aisles of the convention floor as it was evident nobody was simply walking by this booth. They were obviously drawn to where the action was at LDI and sticking around to enjoy the party atmosphere.
