About Cory Froke
Cory Froke specializes in media server and projection system design, engineering, and programming, with an emphasis on large-scale projection mapping, interactive systems, and complex media server arrays. He began his professional career at the age of 15 as a lighting technician for the San Diego Repertory Theatre and the Old Globe Theatre, in his hometown of San Diego.
Growing up, one of Cory’s hobbies was designing small-scale electronic circuits, which, when coupled with his love of the arts, led him to a fascination with moving lights. Always looking to keep up with the latest technologies, Cory eventually migrated from the world of lighting to the world of video and projection, and quickly developed a passion for programming media servers.
Through the years, Cory has held freelance, touring, and full-time positions at companies that are consistently at the forefront of video technology, including DWP Live, Chaos Visual Productions, and PRG Nocturne, which has allowed him to hold engineering, design, and programming positions on a multitude of different productions – from concert tours to permanently installations, awards shows to Broadway musicals, corporate one-offs, and themed environments.
Cory is based in Burbank, California and reports directly to Nigel Sadler, CTO, Green Hippo Media Technology.
As well as the addition to the US office, Green Hippo have expanded their Head Office team in the UK, with additions to departments across development and sales. The last 12 months mark significant growth and change within the company and channel partners. Over 800 Hippotizer V4 media servers are now out in the wild, being used on some of the world’s most prestigious events such as the SuperBowl Half Time show, the 88th Academy Awards, Wrestlemania and the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.
