CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The NSCA Education Foundation noted that the industry band, Drunk Unkles, will perform their first fundraiser of 2016 on Wed. June 8, 2016 from 8:30 to 11pm at Las Vegas’ Vinyl performance space within the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. In the 11th year of supporting the NSCA Education Foundation, the Drunk Unkles have raised more than $1 million through various fundraising efforts.

More details from NSCE Foundation (www.nscafoundation.org):

Dubbed “Obsessed with Vinyl,” the Drunk Unkles will play to provide funding and raise awareness about a new industry-wide program: Ignite. Ignite arms integration firms and consultants with marketing and promotional materials that can be used at job fairs and shared with students and young professionals considering a move to the commercial technology industry. Free concert passes can be picked up at designated sponsor booths during the first day of InfoComm16, or downloaded after May 1 by visiting www.nscafoundation.org or www.drunkunkles.com

Money raised from industry professionals, manufacturers, consultant firms, dealers, distributors, rep firms, and integrators as part of this annual event have contributed to the NSCA Education Foundation’s ability to establish meaningful and impactful programs, offer scholarships, and provide training opportunities for new professionals and industry veterans.

The Drunk Unkles began more than 11 years ago as a way to help others. The band performed its first charity fundraising event to help the family of an industry peer who unexpectedly lost his life. “The Drunk Unkles have supported the industry and its members by sharing their talents at great venues for more than decade,” says Chuck Wilson, director of the NSCA Education Foundation. “This annual Drunk Unkles performance, held each year, has grown to become one of the most popular, must-attend networking events held during InfoComm week.”

Sponsors to date for this year’s event include Advanced AV, AV Nation, AVTEQ, Barco, Chief, Christie Digital, Cleerline, Commercial Integrator, Da-Lite, FSR, Harman, IVCI, NEC, rAVe Publications, Solutions 360, Stewart Filmscreen, SurgeX, Synnex, West Penn Wire, Whitlock, and Winsted.
