SHAH ALAM, Malaysia — Anugerah Juara Lagu 30, the 30th annual “Champion of Songs” awards show, was staged Jan. 24, 2016 at the Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam. Malaysia’s TV3 first launched the annual singing competition in 1986. Acoustic & Lighting provided Clay Paky fixtures for the event. The rig included 70 Sharpys, 20 Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20s (pictured here), 22 Alpha Wash 1500s and 10 Alpha Spot HPE 1500s.

More details from Clay Paky (www.claypaky.it):

Besides enjoying the amazing performances by the artists themselves, the audience were impressed by the lights. The swirls and beams from the lighting fixtures formed a show within the show. The crowd saw a total of at least 190 lights, installed throughout the Stadium, perform in unison.

The lighting designer skillfully coordinated the lights to merge harmoniously with each other. The most prominent and notable fixtures were the lights from the Clay Paky range. Acoustic & Lighting were able to spot seventy Sharpys installed around the stage and stands. Furthermore, a total of twenty Clay Paky B-EYE K20s, twenty-two Alpha Wash 1500s and ten Alpha Spot HPE 1500s were used throughout the event, and stood out for their smooth colour transition.

MJ Event Management was chosen as one of the sound and lighting equipment suppliers for Anugerah Juara Lagu. The affable, approachable Mr Manja gave us a firm handshake at the beginning of our interview, during which we got to know him and his company better.

He said: “We mainly used Clay Paky lights. The Clay Paky Sharpys, Alpha Wash 1500s, Alpha Spot HPE 1500s and B-EYE K20s were astounding; the customer loved them and enjoyed the light show, as we saw.”

“I would like to thank Acoustic & Lighting System for constantly supporting me. Mr Yeo and Mr Alexander have always spurred and encouraged me, and supplied me with great equipment. My plans for my company are to continue to share my experience with others. I am not interested in just being the best: I want to share our experience in events with others. We will continue to provide quality services and products to our customers,” Mr Manja said as a closing statement when we asked him about his future plans.
