LAS VEGAS — The deadline to nominate regional lighting companies for a 2016 Parnelli Award as Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year is only days away: June 30. Nominations have been coming in fast and furious for the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Southwest regions, but for some reason (Global warming? Brexit? Who knows?) we’ve had fewer nominations coming in from the Northwest U.S. and Canada this year.
The good news is, we can still take nominations all the way up until 5 p.m. West Coast time on June 30. After that, the nomination focus for the month of July turns to the annual Indispensable Technology (“IT”) Awards competition, which recognizes the most innovative, useful and otherwise indispensable Lighting, Staging, Projection and Audio product introduced from mid-2015 to mid-2016.
Then, in August, the Parnelli nomination focus turns to all other Parnelli Awards categories. By early September, the regional Hometown Hero winners will be announced, and their names will appear with all the other Parnelli nominees on the official Parnelli Ballot. That gets posted in early September, and voting continues throughout the month.
The awards will be presented this year on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
