LONDON – Creative Technology (CT) announces the acquisition of “The Wireless Works” a specialist event service business based in Godalming, UK, delivering radio communications, intercom and data services to the broadcast and live event markets.

More details from CT (www.ctlondon.com):

Founded in 2002 by Tristian Bickerton, The Wireless Works operates alongside CT at many prestigious events including Wimbledon, Glastonbury and the Olympic Games. The two businesses also service many common clients in the wider corporate events market and have a shared ethos of delivering high end specialist technical services, driven by innovative people and best in class technology.

The development and recent launch of CT’s “Integrated Networks” division has created new synergies and opportunities in an increasingly complex and core area of technical event delivery.

In the immediate future the business will continue to operate just as it has for the last 15 years from its premises in Godalming, with Tristian as Managing Director.

Early next year, following the completion of CT’s expansion into additional and larger premises, the company will relocate to Crawley and be fully merged into the CT business. At that time, Tristian will assume a more focused Sales and Business Development role. It is hoped that the entire team at The Wireless Works move to CT and recognize the exciting and broader career opportunities this deal represents for them.

Tristian Bickerton, Managing Director The Wireless Works, commented “I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved over the last 15 years since I founded the firm. We have developed a unique position in a highly specialist sector. This is down to two groups of very special people to whom I am extremely grateful. The team at The Wireless Works are and continue to be the best in our business. I thank them all for the commitment and dedication they have put in to get us to where we are today. Equally important are our clients, our friends and the people we work with. Most have been with us for years and I hope will continue to for many years to come. Many have thrown seemingly impossible challenges at us, we have risen to those challenges, delivered, sometimes against the odds, and it is this which makes us what we are today. As we start a new chapter in the life of this company, I am excited about the future and the opportunities we share together.”

Dave Crump, CT’s CEO for Europe and the Middle East adds “We have known Tristian for many years; he worked at CT prior to forming The Wireless Works and we have worked closely together ever since, often for the same clients and regularly at the same events. He and his team are well respected in our industry and share many of the values and aspirations that we do. We are a highly respected specialist business, combining the best people with latest technology to deliver the highest quality and most innovative audio visual and associated services to an enviable client base. The Wireless Works will further strengthen that offering and our position.

“The Wireless Works name will be retained for the time being as it is believed to add value to the company’s position and recognition in the market. All of us at CT look forward to welcoming Tristian and his people to our team and continuing our exciting journey.”
