LAS VEGAS — There will be plenty to look at during this year’s LDI show, with the latest moving lights, video gear, staging and rigging equipment and sound systems all competing for attention. The greatest networking opportunity for visitors to Las Vegas in late October, meanwhile, will be taking place miles from the haze-and-distraction-filled convention center. The 2016 PLSN/FOH Parnelli Classic Golf Tournament is set for Thursday, Oct. 20 at Siena Golf Club, on the west side of town.
“Even though the competition is real, it stays friendly, and everyone has a great time,” said Terry Lowe, publisher of PLSN and FRONT of HOUSE magazines. It’s a great way to meet and network with the current leaders of our industry, Lowe adds, noting that, whether you play as an individual or come with a team, there are many levels for attendees to participate. “Manufacturers, vendors and clients all benefit from great connections forged on the links,” he says.
Sponsors for the 2016 PLSN/FOH Parnelli Golf Classic include A.C.T Lighting, CPR Tent & Events, Doug Fleenor Design, Elation, IntelliEvent, Morpheus Lights and Solotech. Sponsorship opportunities still available, and all companies planning to attend the event are invited to upgrade their marketing profile at the event through hole-sponsorship packages. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Parnelli Scholarship Fund, supporting the next generation of live event professionals studying at UNLV.
The event itself will take place once again at the Siena Golf Club, with it beautiful course in the foothills of the Spring Mountains. Along with great views of the Strip, it features some of the best golf in Las Vegas. The address is 10575 Siena Monte Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89135.
Registration for the Oct. 20 event begins at 7 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served, the driving range will be open to warm up, and there will be a putting contest. The shotgun start is at 8:00 a.m. The tournament itself is a shotgun-start best-ball scramble. There will be a BBQ lunch buffet and awards ceremony immediately following the round of golf. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams, and even the most challenged team on the course won’t go home empty handed. Their prize: Tennis rackets.
