LAS VEGAS — The first of two big shows featuring the Rolling Stones at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena has been canceled, according to a statement on the band’s website. The show was to be staged the same night as the final debate between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton on the campus of UNLV three miles away.
The Stones’ site noted that “lead vocalist Mick Jagger has come down with laryngitis and has been advised by doctors to rest his voice.” The band is also scheduled to perform Saturday, Oct. 22 — also the night of the Parnelli Awards. As of early Wednesday, there was no information on whether that show would have to be canceled as well.
“We hope to have information about the possibility of rescheduling this date very soon,” the site’s statement continued. “We encourage ticket holders to wait for that information before seeking refunds. We also hope to have further information about the status of the concert scheduled for Saturday, October 22.”
