HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA- Pacific Coast Entertainment, provider of staging and theatrical services, has acquired Santa Ana-based California Stage & Lighting, affectionately known as Cal Stage. Cal Stage has been a legend in the Southern California entertainment industry since 1982. Their focus on the theatrical, themed and live event industries has been invaluable to the market.

More details from PCE (www.gopce.com):

During the span of their ownership, Jimmy Ray & Irene Hutton have had many accomplishments. Some of these include being a founding member of the Theatrical Dealer’s Association which is now ESTA, employing over 250 employees, managing two sales locations, developing the CandleLite electronic flicker candle and, most importantly, training young technicians who have gone on to major jobs in the professional entertainment world. After 35 years, however, the couple has decided that it’s time for Act II and is retiring. “I began this business to help customers in the local region who had no other place to go,” Jimmy Ray says. He continues, “It has been our pleasure to serve so many wonderful clients in the area.”

Cal Stage will now be operating from PCE’s headquarters in Huntington Beach. The Cal Stage brand will remain active indefinitely. CEO Ryan Steidinger states, “PCE is honored to acquire such a well-respected business such as California Stage & Lighting. Jimmy and Irene built an incredible foundation where they supported thousands of customers across the Southern California region. I couldn’t think of a better way to honor their contribution to the theatrical community than to keep their brand alive. We look forward to serving Cal Stage’s customers.”

All existing service offerings from Cal Stage will continue moving forward and be added to the PCE portfolio. Cal Stage customers will benefit from expanded service offerings of audio and video, plus have access to PCE’s extensive lighting and staging inventory.
