COLUMBIA, MD – EventEQ is proud to announce their continued support for Howard Community College through the creation of a merit-based scholarship. This donation will provide funding for two students pursuing coursework in the entertainment technology program in the 2019–2020 academic year.

More details from EventEQ (www.eventeq.com):

HCC launched its entertainment technology program in 2017, and EventEQ was an early partner, investing upwards of $100,000 in equipment and in-kind services for the program. With the scholarship program, EventEQ will be able to help students continue their studies and work toward a career in this growing field.

“We have been a big supporter of the educational community and are very excited to take our commitment to the next level with this scholarship,” stated BJ Singh, CEO of EventEQ.

Singh, a serial entrepreneur, co-founded EventEQ in 2006 after a successful career in the tech sector. “I want these students to know that pursuing a career they are passionate about is attainable. My hope is that these scholarships will allow others to get a head start following their dreams.”

Student scholarship winners will also have the opportunity to participate in EventEQ’s professional internship program, where they will gain practical, hands-on experience working in the entertainment technology industry.

“We believe strongly in the HCC mission to ‘provide pathways to success’ for everyone whose life goals can be realized through education,” says David John, chief operating officer for EventEQ’s parent company, Entertainment Technology Partners. “HCC is providing an excellent educational foundation and value for those students pursuing a career in our field.”

“These scholarships are a great opportunity for our students,” said Seth Schwartz, director of production at the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center at Howard Community College. “EventEQ has been an amazing partner for HCC and we are beyond excited to expand our relationship to create a foundation these students can build on for the rest of their lives.”

Scholarship winners are set to be announced during the fall semester.  For more information on this or other educational foundation scholarship opportunities, please visit www.howardcc.edu
