NEW YORK – New York and Atlanta-based Choreografx Studios, a specialist in extended reality (xR) and virtual production, has teamed up with Crafty Apes, a leading full-service VFX provider, and the cutting-edge immersive NYC exhibition ZeroSpace to create Choreografx@ZeroSpace, Manhattan’s first extended reality studio for film and television which is now open for bookings.

The facility will feature multiple state-of-the-art LED walls which will completely immerse the talent in virtual environments. Using render engines such as Unreal Engine and specialized disguise Rx media servers, combined with technology like the stYpe RedSpy camera tracking system, Choreografx Studios and Crafty Apes will create 3d virtual scenes and locations that directors and talent can see and interact with in real-time. Changes can be made while the talent is still on set, without costly re-shoots or post-production headaches. And at a time when on-location filming is difficult at best, Choreografx@ZeroSpace will offer productions the ability to easily capture multiple locations in a single shoot with minimal resets.
The new Choreografx@ZeroSpace xR studio, which is available for bookings from November onward, also comes with the first-class amenities of ZeroSpace, an immersive art exhibition and event-space located in the heart of Manhattan on 7th Ave, directly across from Penn Station.
Crafty Apes is a full-service visual effects company started in Los Angeles, with studios in Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Baton Rouge, Albuquerque and Vancouver. Beginning as a VFX studio for film and TV, Crafty Apes has grown to include a talented roster of creative and production supervisors that offer set supervision, VFX consultation and high-end CG and previsualization services.
