20 – Still a Great Number

The number “20” still resonates with me. I liked a crisp 20-dollar bill because I can always buy a drink or a lunch with one. I liked the start of 2020 because it brought around the 20th Anniversary of PLSN and a special appearance by Garth Brooks at the Parnelli Awards that capped the most stellar awards celebration ever.

This month was supposed to mark the 20th Parnelli Awards, but like everything else in the world, we’re on hold. We could have presented our readers with a weak virtual awards show of some sort based on some submissions made by our readers, but that’s really not our style. We’ve always been about the party that sustains the awards.

With this issue, as we kick 2020 to the curb with great fervor, I invite you to enjoy this month’s look at the 20-year history of the Parnellis as we travel down Memory Lane.

Kevin Mitchell, who normally keeps busy this time of year in his role as Parnelli Awards producer/writer, took a deep dive into the archives for a look back for the Parnelli Retrospective filling this issue from pages 8-25.

Be also sure to check out the 20-year video retrospective, which can be viewed at ParnelliAwards.com starting Jan. 22.
