Designer Insights by Steve Jennings:

Lighting and set designer Chris Stuba says he envisioned a kind of television Christmas variety show from the 1970’s for the Christmas Album Live! tour design, something very traditional. Stuba presented some renders early last year to Brian and management and they liked what was presented.

Stuba and production manager Clint Boire started Christmas shopping in the summer, which Stuba says was weird… acquiring 10’ and 12’ Christmas trees, 6’ wreaths, poinsettias and plenty of garland and LED candles.

“I knew that I wanted to use the Intelligent Marque Systems individually DMX-controlled marquee/festoon lighting systems for the Christmas lights. I was very pleased with the results of the product. festoons and Christmas lights all in one. Sew What? supplied a beautiful new set of drapes and borders.”

Stuba notes that Mike Golden has been his account rep at Bandit Lites since the days of ZZ Top.

“He is a wonderful human being and a great account rep. I have always been a fan of the Vari-Lite pan and tilt motors. The VL5 is still my favorite fixture. I love the tungsten color temperature and the way it breathes on the dimmer. SolaFrame 2000 are used on our backdrops and I am falling in love with these fixtures as well.

“Music and Love surround this organization and it shows in everything. I am so grateful to know and work with these beautiful people and to bring this Christmas classic music to light.”
