SolaFrame 1000 offers 20,000 field lumen output, full framing shutters, rotating and fixed gobo wheels, a new CMY and CTO color mixing system, 12-40 degree zoom, replaceable color wheels and continuously variable animation effects. Available in Ultra-Bright and High CRI versions, the SolaFrame 1000 ships with a TM30 Filter that boosts the Ultra-Bright engine to 85+ CRI. Seattle Crowds Ring in New Year at Space Needle Lit with Elation and Acclaim Lighting Fixtures

SEATTLE – Seattle revelers rang in the New Year at the city’s iconic Space Needle with a fireworks show and lighting display that made use of Elation and Acclaim lighting fixtures. Illuminate Production Services (IPS) was responsible for the lighting aspect of the event. The setup included Elation’s all-weather Proteus Hybrid and Proteus Beam fixtures, which stood up to some wildly inclement weather.

In Memoriam: Mark Grega, 53

NASHVILLE — Mark Grega, who launched pyro and special effects company Strictly FX with co-founder Ted Maccabee in 1996, died Jan. 13. He was 53. Strictly FX recalled Grega as “a visionary and innovative leader in live special effects,” noting that, under his leadership, they have provided effects for six Super Bowl halftime shows, won nine Parnelli Awards and supported legendary bands including Pink Floyd, Roger Waters and David Gilmour.
