Aeson LED Display Technologies says its Alchemy 680 HD Controller is a significant upgrade from their current 660 controller. Key features include RJ45 locking Neutrik Ethercon connectors, a more robust locking IEC power connector and a more compact form factor – the cabinet is 1RU (rack unit) as opposed to 1.5RU for the 660. The following are the key features of our new Alchemy 680 HD controller: RJ45 LOCKING Neutrik Ethercon connectors which replace the basic RJ45 connectors; the more robust locking IEC power connector (the power cable will never become dislodged; and the cabinet is 1RU (rack unit) as opposed to 1.5RU for the 660.

BOSTON MA – Available Light expanded its Boston studio with the hiring of Po-Yang Sung. Po-Yang is a Taiwanese native fresh from The University of Texas at Austin, where he received his MFA in Lighting Design. In school, he lit a variety of performance styles ranging from drama to dance to musical comedy. Prior to joining Available Light, Po-Yang served as Resident Lighting Designer at Michigan’s Thunder Bay Theatre Company.

NASHVILLE – Since 1970, the GMA Dove Awards has honored excellence in the Christian Music industry. At the 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards, event producer and production designer Scott DeVos of DeLux Productions was brought on board to help accentuate that diversity. Wanting LED video to play an integral role in the design, DeVos needed a provider with a myriad of technologies to fill the design, so he reached out to Nashville-based Elite Multimedia. Elite Multimedia supplied him with PixelFLEX LED video walls for the production design.

BIRMINGHAM, UK – Specialz, a Birmingham-based production design and specialty manufacturing company, took up a challenge posed by Coldplay and LD Paul Normandale to take the inclusive Xyloband crowd lighting idea one step further for the band’s performance at the Glastonbury Festival’s main Pyramid stage this past summer. They turned to Specialz for help in creating a festoon that could fully support over 500 LED balls without being attached to the structure. Each LED ball was programmed, tested and charged, before being secured into its holder and then rigged onto the outer staging.
